Which flooring resin should I choose? What proportions and quantity should I use?

Jaką żywicę podłogową wybrać? Jakie dobrać proporcje i ilość? - Gaz-Bud Pro

Choosing the right epoxy resin is a key step in the process of installing flooring in industrial facilities, warehouses, garages, or even homes. At the Gaz-Bud wholesaler, we offer high-quality epoxy resins Sarzyna Epidian Floor S1 and Epidian Floor C1, tailored to different usage conditions. In this article, we explain which one to choose, how to calculate the required quantity, and what mixing ratios to use to achieve a durable and aesthetically pleasing floor coating.

Epidian Floor S1 or C1 – which resin should you choose?

In our offer, you will find two types of Sarzyna Epidian Floor epoxy resins:

  1. Epidian Floor S1 – a self-leveling epoxy resin designed for creating smooth, uniform floors. Ideal for industrial, warehouse, garage, and commercial interiors where high mechanical and chemical resistance is required.

  2. Epidian Floor C1 – designed for structural, anti-slip flooring systems. It is suitable for areas where greater adhesion is required, e.g., in production halls, parking lots, or workshops.

How to calculate the required amount of resin?

To accurately calculate the amount of resin needed to install the flooring, several factors must be taken into account:

  • Surface area to be covered (m²) – the basic parameter on which the amount of material depends.

  • Layer thickness – a standard layer is usually 1 to 3 mm thick, but depending on the conditions, a greater thickness may be required.

  • Resin consumption per mm of thickness – for example, at a thickness of 1 mm, the consumption is approx. 1.1-1.3 kg per 1 m².

Calculation example:

If you have a surface area of 50 m² and want to apply a layer of 2 mm, the calculation looks like this:

50 m² × 2 mm × 1.2 kg/m²/mm = 120 kg of resin

What mixing ratios should be used?

Epidian Floor S1 and C1 are two-component systems, which means they require the proper mixing of the base resin with the hardener. The standard mixing ratios are:

  • Epidian Floor S1 – 100 parts by weight of resin to 20 parts by weight of hardener,

  • Epidian Floor C1 – 100 parts by weight of resin to 25 parts by weight of hardener.

When preparing the mixture, the ingredients should be mixed thoroughly to achieve a uniform consistency, and then applied to the surface within 30-40 minutes of mixing to avoid premature curing.

What to order?

At the Gaz-Bud wholesaler, we offer Epidian Floor S1 and C1 in packages of 5 kg, 10 kg, 25 kg.

For the above example (120 kg of required resin), you can order, for example:

  • 4 x 25 kg = 100 kg

  • 2 x 10 kg = 20 kg

This gives a total of 120 kg.

Summary

The choice of the right epoxy resin depends on the usage conditions and the expected durability of the flooring. Epidian Floor S1 will prove effective for smooth, abrasion-resistant floors, while Epidian Floor C1 is an excellent choice for anti-slip surfaces.
