Atlac 580 ACT is a high-quality bisphenol A-based vinyl ester resin, pre-accelerated and thixotropic, designed for use in the most demanding conditions. It combines excellent chemical, thermal, and mechanical resistance with ease of application. For full performance, it is used in combination with Luperox hardener, which guarantees a stable and controlled cross-linking process.

Key Benefits

  • Resistance to aggressive chemicals – excellent in acidic and alkaline environments and in contact with hot water.
  • High thermal resistance – stable performance even up to 130 °C (Tg), at which epoxies lose their properties.
  • Excellent application properties – low foaming when peroxides are added and a smooth surface after curing.
  • Low exotherm – allows for the fabrication of thick laminate sections without the risk of overheating.
  • Good fiber compatibility – also works with aramid fibers.
  • Complete system – used with Luperox hardener, it ensures long-lasting and highly durable laminates.

Atlac 580 ACT Even at Low Temperatures

Atlac 580 ACT can be used not only under standard conditions (18–25 °C) but also in environments with temperatures around 0 °C. By using additional accelerators (DMA 10, DMPT 10, and Curox BP-50-FT), effective and stable curing is also possible at low temperatures.

  • At 0–1 °C, the gel time is approximately 26–45 minutes (depending on the proportions).
  • The gel temperature reaches approximately 15 °C – the process proceeds in a controlled manner, without excessive exotherm.
  • The ability to apply it in cooler conditions also makes it safe to use outside the production facility.

Applications

  • Chemical and water treatment industries – tanks, pipelines, and covers exposed to aggressive substances.
  • Marine industry – hulls and components resistant to osmosis and seawater.
  • Industrial construction – structural composites and flooring in harsh environments.
  • Agriculture and agro-industry – silos, installations, and surfaces in contact with fertilizers and silage.

Storage Conditions

The resin should be stored in its original, tightly sealed packaging in a cool, dry place (5–30 °C). The product should not be exposed to light, as this may shorten its shelf life.

Summary

Atlac 580 ACT is a vinyl ester resin that delivers where conventional polyesters and epoxies fall short. Used with Luperox hardener and suitable for application even at low temperatures, it ensures reliability, longevity, and resistance in the most demanding environments.
