Epidian 52 – low-viscosity epoxy resin for casting, laminating, and impregnation
Epidian 52 is a solvent-free, low-viscosity epoxy resin with a light yellow to yellow color. Thanks to its properties, it is perfectly suited for electrical insulation castings and as a wetting agent for fiberglass laminates.
Key features:
- Low viscosity: facilitates penetration and thorough wetting of glass fibers, ensuring high-quality laminates.
- Excellent electrical insulation properties: ideal for protecting and insulating electrical and electronic components.
- High adhesion: bonds effectively with various materials, including metals, glass, ceramics, and wood.
- Chemical resistance: exhibits resistance to oils, greases, and diluted acids and alkalis.
Minimal shrinkage during curing: ensures dimensional stability of the cured components.
Applications:
- Electrical insulation castings: protection and insulation of electronic components, such as transformers, coils, or integrated circuits.
- Fiberglass laminates: production of strong and lightweight composites used in various industries.
- Bonding: durable joining of structural materials in construction and industry.
- Impregnation: strengthening and protecting surfaces against external factors.
The gel time at 20°C for a 100 g sample is approximately 40 minutes. Full curing occurs after 7 days, however, this process can be accelerated by increasing the temperature after preliminary curing.
