EPIDIAN® 624 – liquid epoxy resin for laminating, impregnation and protective coatings
EPIDIAN® 624 – liquid epoxy resin for laminating, impregnation and protective coatings
EPIDIAN® 624 is a liquid, low-viscosity epoxy resin intended for professional, industrial, and technical applications. Thanks to its low viscosity, it performs well in substrate priming, laminating with fiberglass, and applying protective coatings to concrete and steel surfaces.
The product can be used for concrete priming, injection, fiberglass laminating, and applying protective coatings in concrete and steel tanks, among other applications. When combined with the appropriate hardener, it creates a durable epoxy system with good mechanical and chemical resistance properties.
Key advantages of EPIDIAN® 624
- low viscosity facilitates the impregnation of mats, fabrics, and porous substrates,
- good priming properties, especially for concrete and laminates,
- can be used with various hardeners depending on working conditions,
- suitable for laminating glass fiber reinforcements and making composites,
- suitable for protective coatings on concrete and steel,
- enables the creation of a durable, chemically resistant epoxy composition.
Application
EPIDIAN® 624 is recommended for work where good substrate wetting, thorough reinforcement impregnation, and a durable epoxy coating are important. The product is particularly used in technical, composite, and protective works.
- laminating with glass mats and fabrics,
- making epoxy laminates,
- priming concrete, wood, and other porous substrates,
- injection and structural strengthening,
- protective coatings on concrete and steel tanks,
- repairing and protecting technical elements,
- construction and composite work.
Why choose EPIDIAN® 624?
Compared to higher-viscosity epoxy resins, EPIDIAN® 624 is easier to apply and penetrates the substrate better. This is a major advantage in laminating, priming, and priming, where the material must penetrate well into the surface structure or thoroughly impregnate the reinforcement.
The resin is particularly practical where a fluid epoxy composition with good wettability is needed, while also offering high durability after curing.
Hardener selection
EPIDIAN® 624 can be used with various hardeners. The choice of hardener has a major impact on working time, curing speed, gloss, chemical resistance, and the ability to work at lower temperatures.
| Hardener | Amount per 100 parts by weight of EPIDIAN® 624 | Approximate gel time of 100 g of the composition | When to choose? |
|---|---|---|---|
| IDA | 50 parts by weight | approx. 50 minutes | For laminating, priming, and work where good smoothness, gloss, and no greasy amine film on the surface are important. |
| TFF | 26 parts by weight | approx. 20 minutes | For faster work and applications at lower temperatures. TFF hardener allows curing from around 5°C. |
| ET | 18 parts by weight | approx. 45 minutes | For standard technical applications when a moderate working time is needed. |
| Z-1 | 12 parts by weight | approx. 40 minutes | For classic epoxy resin work when a simple and fast working composition is required. |
Note: the given proportions refer to parts by weight, i.e., the amount of hardener per 100 parts by weight of EPIDIAN® 624 resin. In practice, this means that the components should always be measured by weight, not by volume.
EPIDIAN® 624 with IDA Hardener
The particularly recommended combination is EPIDIAN® 624 with IDA Hardener. IDA hardener is transparent, has low viscosity, and performs very well with laminating using glass or carbon fiber reinforcement, as well as priming porous materials such as concrete, wood, or PU foam.
The composition with IDA hardener allows for a surface with good smoothness and high gloss. This is particularly important in work where not only strength but also the aesthetics of the finished surface matter.
PZH Hygienic Certificate
The EPIDIAN® 624 with IDA Hardener composition has a PZH Hygienic Certificate. According to the document, the certificate applies to the epoxy composition intended for making epoxy laminates and coatings that come into contact with water intended for human consumption.
This means that the EPIDIAN® 624 + IDA system can be used in demanding applications where the confirmed hygienic safety of the finished coating is important. The product should be used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, the technical data sheet, the safety data sheet, and the conditions specified in the certificate.

Application tips
- Before use, the resin and hardener should be accurately measured by weight.
- The components must be mixed slowly and thoroughly, avoiding excessive aeration.
- The substrate should be dry, clean, degreased, and properly mechanically prepared.
- When laminating, the reinforcement should be thoroughly impregnated to avoid air voids.
- Do not exceed the recommended amount of hardener, as this may impair the properties of the finished composition.
- Work should be carried out under conditions compliant with the product's technical documentation.
Safety of use
EPIDIAN® 624 is a chemical product intended for use in compliance with health and safety regulations. The product may cause skin and eye irritation and may cause an allergic skin reaction. During work, protective gloves, protective clothing, and eye and face protection should be used.
Avoid contact of the product with skin and eyes, do not inhale vapors or sprayed liquid, and do not allow the product to enter the sewer system, soil, or water bodies.
Storage
The product should be stored in its original, tightly closed packaging, in a dry and well-ventilated room. Protect from moisture, heat sources, fire, and direct sunlight.
