Epidian 652 – epoxy resin for drones and lightweight composites
Epidian 652 – epoxy resin for drones and lightweight composites
Epidian 652 is a low-viscosity, clear epoxy resin with a light yellow color, which, thanks to its structure and properties, is used in the production of drone components and lightweight composite structures. It is a composition of epoxy resin and active thinner, which ensures excellent wetting of carbon and glass fibers and ease in laminating processes (infusion, hand lay-up).
After curing, it forms a coating with high resistance to abrasion, mechanical loads, and chemicals. Its transparency makes it excellent not only for industrial applications but also for decorative and modeling projects.
Why is Epidian 652 good for drones?
- Low viscosity – easily impregnates carbon and glass fabrics, which is crucial in the production of UAV arms, wings, and fuselages.
- High mechanical strength – ensures the stiffness and durability of the structure while maintaining a low weight.
- Chemical resistance and waterproofing – protects composites against moisture, fuels, lubricants, and outdoor conditions, which increases drone reliability.
- Ability to work with various technologies – from hand lay-up to vacuum infusion, used in unmanned aviation.
- Aesthetics and transparency – allows for smooth, visually attractive surfaces (e.g., fairings, electronics covers, modeling elements).
Key features
- Surface transparency and aesthetics – smooth, glossy coating.
- Can be colored with pigments.
- Mechanical resistance – resistant to abrasion and damage.
- Chemical resistance – resistant to oils, lubricants, diluted acids, and bases.
- Waterproofing – protects composites against moisture.
Applications
- Drones and UAVs – production of arms, fuselages, wings, fairings, and electronics covers using CF/GF technologies.
- Laminating – in combination with glass and carbon fabrics for composite structures.
- Bonding – joining wood, metal, glass, and many other materials.
- Decorative projects – jewelry, castings, countertop surfaces, modeling.
- Impregnation – protecting concrete and other porous surfaces.
- Protective coatings – durable, weather-resistant solvent-free coatings.
Technical parameters
- Gel time (100 g, 20°C): approx. 50 minutes
- Full cure: after 7 days
- The process can be accelerated by increasing the temperature after preliminary curing
Epidian 652 is an ideal choice for companies and hobbyists involved in the production and repair of drones, as well as for anyone who needs a durable and versatile epoxy resin for technical and decorative applications.

Hardeners and mixing ratios
Epidian 652 requires the use of a suitable hardener. Depending on the technology and expected mechanical properties, different systems can be used:
- PAC hardener – ratio 100:50 (resin:hardener) – recommended for carbon and glass fiber laminates in the UAV industry.
- TFF hardener – ratio 100:50 – for laminating, infusion, and structures requiring high resistance.
- IDA hardener – ratio 100:40 – an alternative for elements requiring increased chemical resistance.
- Z1 hardener – ratio 100:12 – for adhesive and coating applications.
👉 For the production of drones and lightweight composite structures, the PAC or TFF hardener is recommended, as they provide the best mechanical properties and durability for CF/GF laminates.
