Honey Wax separating wax
Honey Wax separating wax
Honey Wax® is a unique high-gloss wax
used as a mold release agent in the composite
industry. It is a product based on the highest
quality carnauba wax, enriched with special
binders and additives that facilitate spreading.
Honey Wax® reduces working time thanks to its exceptional ease
of application and polishing. It is an excellent
anti-adhesive agent that ensures repeatability, high
gloss, no spotting, and excellent release from the mold. It is
easier to apply than other waxes, and the resulting coating
is very durable and abrasion-resistant, so it
remains intact after many demolding cycles.
Recommended procedure
1. The mold surface must be carefully cleaned of
all contaminants such as oils, lubricants, wax, dirt,
and mold release residue by hand polishing with
BuffAway™ 2000 polishing paste, and then washing with
KantStik® Mold Cleaner. Once the mold is
completely dry, apply two coats of KantStik
® Sealer 1.0 to eliminate
its porosity.
2. Using circular motions, apply a thin,
even layer of Honey Wax® using a sponge or clean
cloth. Ensure that the entire surface of the
mold has been evenly covered.
3. Leave the surface until it is completely
dull. This process should take 1 to 10
minutes, depending on the ambient temperature and
humidity.
4. As soon as the surface is dry, polish it to a
gloss using a clean, absorbent
cloth or microfiber towel.
5. After 10-15 minutes, begin applying another
layer of Honey Wax®
. 5-7 layers of wax
guarantee effective filling of the pores and a tight
coverage of the mold surface (the number of layers depends on the
quality of the mold surface). After demolding the part,
apply two more layers.
6. On the third demolding, it is sufficient to apply one
layer of wax. From this point on, multiple demolding cycles are possible.
7. In the case of a new mold, if polyester resin is used
in production, during the first two cycles,
after 5-7 layers of Honey Wax®, additionally
use vinyl alcohol. This is not necessary if the
mold has already been used and refurbished.
