Gelcoats are intended for use as an outer coating for polyester resin products. Gelcoats protect the product surface by creating a durable coating resistant to mechanical, atmospheric, and aggressive chemical factors, as well as aging factors. They also protect the product against the penetration of water and other media. Transparent gelcoats enhance the pattern and surface texture of the product (e.g., marble or granite imitations, etc.), while white or colored gelcoats mask the laminate pattern (glass mat, cast laminate), providing color and an attractive appearance.

PROCESSING CONDITIONS

The gelcoat must be above 15°C during processing. Mix the gelcoat in the container or individual packages before use. Proper curing requires an ambient temperature above 18°C and low air humidity.
